Abstract
Background and Objectives: Regarding the prevalence of psychological problems in cancer patients, some reports have considered the effectiveness of self-efficacy model prior to previous conventional psychological therpaies to increase the well-being of cancer patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of pain self-efficacy training on improving the physical performance of cancer patients in Urmia Omid hospital. Material and Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental study. The statistical population of this study was all patients with cancer of Urmia Omid hospital in 2018. The samples consisted of 40 patients with cancer of Urmia Omid Hospital and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. First, a quality of life pretest was performed and then the self-efficacy-based intervention was conducted in 10 sessions of 90 minutes, one session per week. After completing the sessions, the quality of life test was repeated for the post-test on two groups.The statistical analysis was done using SPSS software version 21. Results: Data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the mean post-test scores of the experimental and control groups (P Conclusion: Considering the positive effect of pain self-efficacy training, the use of these capacities and training in planning mental health interventions are recommended especially for cancer patients.
